2021 Burghfield Sailability Sessions
Due to the new Covid-19 guidelines of 22 February our 2021 pre-season social and sailing start date are still uncertain. We need to see how the Government's steps 1 and 2 progress. We also need major roof repairs to our building which despite David and Steve K's best efforts still leaks and the sailing club are arranging for repairs to be carried out. Once they are done a new ceiling needs to be installed and we have to decorate the building.
Please keep checking this site for up-to-date information.
Stay Safe and we hope Sailability 2021 will take place at some stage.
About Burghfield Sailability
Burghfield Sailing Club Sailability Group (BSCSG) is a voluntary organisation that is dedicated to bringing boating to people with disabilities on equal terms.
The team at BSCSG operate under the guidance of the Royal Yachting Association, and have trained staff who can advise on different activities that will be appropriate for almost any physical or mental disablity. We focus on what can be achieved, and not on the limitations.
All our helpers are volunteers, and none receive expenses for helping. Even the teas and biscuits are provided by the helpers.
We operate sessions using power boats for safety and pleasure trips, some of which can take wheelchairs, as well as sailing boats catering for different aspirations and abilities.
We are reliant upon people being very generous with their time, as well as people making donations to help us offer the greatest options to our clients.
